U N B R I D L E D ! Now lets get acquainted!
This is has been created by your admin P I E to help any past, present and future members navigate their way around Unbridled alot easier. I won't bother rambling on, I know this is going to be a very long thread, so lets get to the basics.
The most common question is how you get to the roleplay boards, free lands and the create a character section, or navigate around the various areas of Unbridled in general. Easiest way to explain this is to have a peek at the screen shot provided here. The section circled in red is what you are looking at. So go to http://xunbridledx.proboards.com and find that section, which should be just under the home, login, logout, search, profile section. The page will always load on the OOC section. In order to access the create a character and free lands, click on 'Explore.' The next section 'Roleplay' is where there are seven lands, one for the 6 elements Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Metal and space. The 7th land is for the ghosts of Unbridled, and the closest thing possible to a neutral here. If you are a light, and are claimed by an air equine, that doesn't mean you have to bend air. The lands only take after the god or goddess who owns them.
Within the roleplay lands, are several over boards where members are able to claim their chosen land or fight for an occupied one. They reside under the god, but are able to have their own herd. Mares are also able to claim lands, so don't just think all the power belongs to the stallions =P
After you have become friendly with the tabbed categories (OOC, Explore, Roleplay) you should probably read the threads on the board called etiquette It's the first board in the ooc section, if you want to find it yourself. Rules would be most important, then plot & history. A guide to the god and goddess and the other stuff, whenever you feel up to it.
After you have retrieved the password from the rules, you can head to the explore tab and choose one of three options. Create a dark, Create a light or Create a ghost. If you are new, I'd suggest you create a dark or light, or if you are reading this whole guide, the ghosts will be explained later. Please visit the TAKEN NAMES LIST to ensure your name is available for usage. If you don't have a name and need some ideas, you can take a peek at the Available name List and reserve for the future, or take it off if you are using it now. Inside the create a character boads is the form, fill it out and wait for acceptance. Make sure you have filled out everything. yYou should probably leave bending skill and shifting animal blank, until you read the magic section. Make sure you put 'WIP' or NOT FINISHED in your bio, so staff know that you haven't finished your bio. The magic section can be found in OOC > Character Related Material > Magic. There are alot of threads, just read Rules and Elemental Skills because it will be an elemental skill that you are to choose and put in your bio. The shifting form is located in the rules, so make sure the shifting animal you choose is acceptable, by checking the list. PLEASE NOTE that a shifting animal is OPTIONAL but you must have an elemental skill.
Now your character is finished, you should probably reserve your name on the Taken Names List to ensure no one else uses your name. Now lets talk skills.
There are five different levels in total these are as follows; Rookie, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Master. Where rookie is the lowest possible, and Advanced is the highest. Those for levels are able to be obtained by winning contests and buying from the shop. The last level 'Master' is explained in the magic section here
You may also notice another section in the descriptions of the many skills you can get called Expert. This is not able to be obtained, and the only horses who can bend skills at an expert level is a god or goddess, where they are expert in all 18 skills. The only way to get a god or goddess, is through a god or goddess tryouts, so look out for them!
The skills are divided into three sections, Elemental, Purchase and Expensive. There are six elemental skills Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Metal and Space. When creating your character, you will choose one of those skills at a 'beginner' level (Rookie is free for your characters starting element.) If you want two, the second skill must be bought from the shop and it will begin at 'rookie' unless you buy 'beginner.' The list of purchase skills is located in the magic section. These can be 'purchased' from the shop. The list of expensive skills is also located in the magic section. These skills are as the title says 'expensive' and come on sale from time to time. Please note, that if you buy an intermediate skill from the shop, you must make sure you bought rookie and beginner. For example, Medusa's chosen skill is water, so she already is beginner and rookie is given free, so if I want to make her 'Advanced' I would need to buy 'Intermediate' and THEN 'Advanced.'
So now your character has been created, and you know about the magic section, and everything else discussed in this thread. Lets talk about ghosts now. You may create a ghost, or create a plot where you roleplay Drogora the Ghost Goddess, turning your equine into a ghost. If you do not roleplay it out, you acknowledge at one point in your biography or history, that the horse was 'converted into a ghost' by Drogora as she is the only equine able to perform this task. So basically ghosts are just like lights or darks, but are uhmm... GHOSTS! Read more info here. Your ghost may be either light or dark, or a bit of both.
The last part of Unbridled is a Spirit Proxy. If you have ever read the books or seen the move, "The Golden Compass" you would understand what a Proxy is. These creatures are not mandatory for your character! Nothing happens if your character doesn't have a proxy, for now anyways . . . = P If you are interested in obtaining a Proxy, please take a look at the thread located here. Thats all for now!
